LivSpace Reviews

This is a look at LivSpace — the ultimate store to have your interiors completed for your home.

A new home purchase in India isn’t easy, it’s inevitable that when you finally take possession and you want to get the interiors finished and you realize that there’s a new challenge waiting for you: unorganized contractors, sub-par work and even delays. This is where companies such as LivSpace, HomeLane and MyGubbi arrive and claim that they are your one-stop-shop for all your interior needs from the design phase to the installation. The previous review we wrote was based on a person we knew. Since it has become old, we’re making changes to this review based on an individual who contacted us to us. The review below was written by Tanuj Sachdeva.

Discovering LivSpace.com – A Real Customer’s Feedback

It’s because of a huge amount of pain and suffering that we’re writing this form to provide feedback. We hope this information gets to the team or individual who is responsible and the appropriate action to be taken as we don’t wish for anyone else to be in the same issue and go through the same pain we did.

Great Design and Experience Centres, but Empty Promises

In a nutshell, the review of the entire LivSpace team is very poor and unsatisfactory.

What began with a lot of hype and empty promises made by the sales staff, was an unsatisfactory experience. From the beginning, once the site was put up for sale and the site was launched, issues were surfacing. Here’s a small list of the issues in order of priority:

Innumerable Delays by Livspace

1.) Numerous delays in civil works due to the absence of workers e.g it was handed to the authorities the beginning of February and only two men employed on the site during about a month an hour. In addition, the “Supervisor” who was appointed to the site after a lengthy delay was not equipped with the necessary technical knowledge and knowledge to manage any issue that could arise, which made us take part in every stage.

Poor Quality Work

2.) In addition to the delays, it was accompanied with disappointment further due to the poor quality work taking place e.g the bricks that was brought to the site was a mess and it was only following repeated complaints that it was replaced. Another issue was the poor quality of shuttering, where gaps were very evident in the roof, not to mention the fact that the quality of tile laid was also poor. This poor work led us to look for alternative avenues to tackle the problem and include everything within our own personal scope(which does not serve the entire goal of giving a known as corporation i.e LivSpace the full contract)

Uncoordination and changing prices

3.) After all the deconstruction was complete and we had hoped that the situation would improve but the situation only became worse from that point on. There was a lack of coordination between design team as well as the contractor for civil work to the extent that there were clearly disagreements between them in the WhatsApp group that was created to coordinate the project.

Incessant Delays by Livspace

5) As we got closer to completion , there were endless interruptions due to range of reasons. In order to give you an idea of the delays it was scheduled to be completed by the 24th of June, but was later moved to the 31st(there was a period in July , when the site was unavailable) and then moved into September. The site was finally moved during the final week of October. Even if we look at an extended period of time from the various jobs we performed as part of our area of responsibility, there is no explanation for the added delays of two months.

Deep Cleaning & Lack of Response

6) When we left after the shift, our LivSpace team was expected to conduct a thorough cleaning exercise, but this never came to fruition. But even after that it was as filthy as you can get. In addition to the deep cleaning, there was not a single cleaning. After repeated reminders on the WhatsApp Group there were no replies at all(I should mention this again that the WhatsApp Group was put in place for coordination but it is just a one sided group where we used to put out our problems and there was zero accountability/ownership from the apparent ‘leadership’ that existed on the group)

A Year of Mental Anxiety

In light of the problems mentioned above, I’m certain that my entire family has been through a whole year of mental stress and anxiety. I’d like to reiterate how I would really like to see that no one else is going through the same issues, especially when it concerns saving for the rest of their lives. The only way to avoid my mind is to not choose LivSpace’.
