BEIJING China Thursday was successful in orbiting the satellite S-SAR01 for Earth remote monitoring and environmental sensing the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC) announced in an announcement.
The launch was held in the morning at 06:53 a.m. in the local timing (10:53 p.m. time on Wednesday, GMT) from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center located in Shanxi Province in northern China using the Long March 2C launch vehicle.
After the launch the satellite was successfully placed in the orbit it was designed for.
The satellite will be utilized for China’s emergency and environmental ministries to monitor remote areas of the Earth to avoid natural disasters, and to address their effects, as well as for monitoring of the environment as well as emergency response.
Satellite data can be utilized for safeguarding natural the water resource, agriculture and for forestry, and the earthquake monitoring.
