India experienced a single day of growth of 625 cases of COVID-19 which is the lowest number since April 9, 2020. Moreover, there was no fatality reported within just 24 hours, the first event since March 2020 according to the Union health ministry reported on Tuesday. The total number of cases in India has increased to 4,46,621,141 and active cases have dropped to 14,021, the data of the ministry was updated at 8am. The death rate has remained at 5,30,509.

In April 9th, 2020 an estimated 580 new cases were recorded within a single day. There was no death reported in the nation in the past 24 hours, which was the first time since March, 2020. A man aged 76 from Kalaburagi within Karnataka became the initial to die of coronavirus that was discovered in India. The active cases account for 0.03 percent of total cases, and the COVID-19 recovery rate in India has risen to 98.78 percent as per the website of the health ministry.

The number of patients who have recovered from the disease grew to 4,411,17,611, and the fatality rate for cases was reported at 1.19 percent. According to the website of the ministry, 219.74 crore doses of Covid vaccine were administered across the country to date under the COVID-19 vaccination campaign that is nationwide.

The COVID-19 count in India exceeded 20 lakh on the 7th of August, 2020, and 30 thousand on the 23rd of August and forty lakhs on the 5th of September, and fifty lakh by September 16. It surpassed 60 lakh on the 28th of September 70 lakh on the 11th of October and reached 80 lakh on October 29, and 90 million on 20 November and crossed by one crore 19 December.

India has crossed the abysmal threshold of 2 million cases on May 4th. 3 crore cases on June 23 the previous year, and 4 crore on January 25 , this year. There were two deaths — one of Delhi in Delhi and Odisha — were recorded in the span of 24 hours.
