The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry has announced The Buy Creative Tourism Village (Beti Dewi) program in order to promote travel packages for tourism villages throughout Indonesia.

As part of the program that the ministry is working together with an online tourism agent that has created an exclusive channel to sell attractive tourism village packages.

“This year’s objective is 100 tour packages, where the packages come from the 100 top tourism villages of 2021-2022 National Tourism Village Awards (ADWI),” Deputy for Marketing in the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry Ni Made Ayu Marthini said according to an official announcement made on Tuesday.

She said that the packages are the outcome from the selection of top tourism village leaders and tourism awareness groups within their villages.

Her administration introduced an ADWI by 2021. The ministry is currently seeking to market and sell tourism village packages to ensure people can choose different destinations to spend their holidays particularly tourist towns.

At present, the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry is currently working only with Mister Aladin which is an online travel agent. But, collaboration could be developed with other companies. Other initiatives include expanding the variety of tour packages such as 500 village tourism packages are expected to be available by 2023. The amount of packages will be increased to 1,000 by 2024.

Chief operating officer of Mister Aladin, Nitha Sudewo Nitha Sudewo, who is the chief operating officer of Mister Ala is extremely enthusiastic about helping to support Mister Aladin as a way for increasing visits to tourist villages.

“To celebrate this year’s (Christmas as well as New Year) celebrations, we’re offering a 25-percent discount exclusively for products from the tourism village. The offer is valid for a month and will run until the January next year,” she informed.

The programs aim to offer guests different options for vacations and activities like staying in homestays overnight and camping, taking care of buffaloes, milking them and learning how to play traditional instruments and exploring the natural world and other things, all while engaging with the locals of the villages.

She advised tourism village leaders to include their tours in the schedule.

“For about two weeks now, a lot of members of the tourism village have been extremely cooperative in putting their offerings on Mister Aladin. Mister Aladin platform, with specific features for tourism villages,” she added.
