Paradise Road Tintagel – Not your typical Colombo

This gorgeous hideaway with only 10 suites available It is concealed behind towering laurel vines that line the walls. The keepsakes of Fernando’s travellust are adorning the suites with tall ceilings that are elegantly furnished featuring high ceilings wood flooring, and a unique blend of ambience and colour. The majority of suites are clad with off-white tusk, black as well as dark lime, red, with a slight orange hue, and beige-coloured Paradise Road stripes. Beds are covered with mosquito netting with a bathtub, while bathrooms are fitted with tubs and bathrobes. My favorite is the Royal suite which is elegantly embellished , and includes an additional lounge area and bathroom that is mosaic tiled, and a front balcony. You can also opt for the ground floor North West Suite, next to the pool that has the private courtyard and an infinity pool.

All suites come with an exclusive sitting area that is separated from the other rooms and have a balcony. This makes them perfect for anyone who wants a sense of luxury and peace. In dining establishments the ceilings with trompe-l’oeil is a draw for as many people in the restaurant as their menus, which includes everything from hot Sri Lankan Mud Crab soup to sirloin steaks grilled to Lankan the rice, and cashew curry made of nuts.

There is no reason to not like all of them but my personal favorites are the pineapple and carrot cake with cream cheese and lime frosting, and the chocolate paradise road cake. Breakfast is served in a beautiful Courtyard restaurant, with friendly and attentive waiters who are also the most fashionable in Sri Lanka. There is also a modest gym, a lap pool, and a stunning minimalist library that is piled with classics bound in leather. I had the opportunity to feel Sri Lankan culture firsthand thanks to my visit to Tintagel as well as discovered the rich history of the nation as well as how the people of Sri Lanka are adapting it to the modern day.
