The coming two months i.e. June and July are going to bring some exciting launches for the car enthusiasts. During this period, some of the best sub-compact segment SUVs like Maruti Suzuki’s Jimny, Hyundai’s Xeter and Honda’s Elevate are going to be launched.

Glimpses of these actions have been shown earlier also at different times. What will you get in these taxes and which ones will Ray give to the already existing taxes, know here in detail:

Maruti Suzuki Jimny

This five door SUV will be officially launched by Maruti Suzuki on 7th June. The Jimny is also being offered as the company’s first lifestyle SUV. It will be offered in two trims namely Zeta and Alpha. Even before its price was announced, more than 30,000 bookings have been done. This will be the fourth new generation compact or mid-size SUV from the carmaker after the Brezza, Grand Vitara and Frox.

The Jimny debuted at the Auto Expo earlier this year. 1 of the K series in this SUV.Liter petrol engine will be seen. The transmission will come with either a 5 speed manual gearbox or a 4 speed automatic unit as an option. The engine is capable of generating a maximum of 103 bhp and 134 Nm of peak torque. The 3985 mm long SUV will be sold under the company’s Nexa retail chain.

Safety Features

For safety, the Jimny is equipped with 6 airbags, esp with hill hold assist, brakes (LSD) limited slip differential, diesel descent control, ABS with EBD and rear view camera.

How Much Mileage

Mileage of Jimny 4X4 Drive has been revealed by ARI. It is said to be 16.39 kmpl in automatic transmission and 16.94 kmpl in manual transmission. Boot space will be available of 208 liters.

Who Will Fight

Mahindra Thar, Brezza and Force Gurkha.

Price:

The prices of this 5 door model have not been disclosed yet. It is believed that its prices will be revealed only at the launch. However, the estimated price is said to be Rs 10-12 lakh.

Hyundai Extersuv

Hyundai will launch its new car in the sub-compact SUV segment, the Xeter on 10th July. Booking is already happening. According to the company, it will be the first sub-4 meter SUV in the country, which will get 6 air bags in all trims and will be launched in 6 variants.

Talking about the powertrain, it will get 3 options. The 1.2L Kappa petrol engine will be E20 fuel ready and will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and Smart Auto AMT (automated manual transmission). The other M will also get the option of a 1.2L bifuel Kappa petrol engine with a CNG engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It will be offered in 5 trims.

How Much Mileage:

I am going to assume that the mileage in petrol variant will be around 20 km per liter and in cng it can go up to the figure of 26.

Will It Compete Against:

The Hyundai Xtor will compete with the Tata PanchSUV. Punch is currently the only SUV in its segment and one of the best selling models in India. Apart from this, it can also compete with Nissan Magnite, Renault’s Kiger, Maruti’sFrox.

Price:

Its starting price can be up to Rs.6 lakh.

Safety Features

According to LiveHindustan, it could get a touchscreen infotainment system like the Grand i10 Nios, steering-mounted controls, cruise control, multiple charging options, 6 airbags, hill-hold assist, electronic stability control and more basic features. In total, 26 safety features will be seen in it. It features BlueLink connectivity. Advance safety features like dashcam, dual cameras and burglar alarm are being offered for the first time in the Isis segment. Along with this, electric sunroof will also be given in it.

Honda Elevate

Since Honda discontinued its SUV CR-V and WR-V for the Indian market, the Elevate is now being touted as Honda’s first SUV in India. It will be officially launched on 6th June. It is clear from the teaser that came some time ago that the option of single pane sunroof will be made available in it and there is no panoramic type sunroof.

By the way, not much information has been revealed by the company about the car. But, talking about speculation, the powertrain of the Elevate will get you the Honda’s generation 1.5 liter 4 cylinder. According to Livemint, its test mule has been seen on the road some time ago and it is being said that it can be seen in 360 degree rear camera, large touch screen infotainment system, automatic climate control and cruise control etc.

Who Will Fight

This compact SUV will give tough competition to the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Kia Seltos.

How Much Mileage

The Elevate offers the same mileage figures (27 KMPL) as the City’s petrol powertrain.

Expected price to start from around Rs.11 lakh

Mahindra And Tata Will Also Introduce New Cars

Mahindra has also made a move to launch a 5-door version of the Thar to take on Maruti’sJimny. Cabin space will also be good in this. It is expected that this year it will also be launched at the beginning of the festive season. It could be offered in a 2 liter turbo petrol engineand a 2.2 liter diesel engine. According to another news, Mahindra is also planning to launch its XUV 100 to compete with Hyundai Extor and Tata Punch.

Tata, wary of Exter, has also geared up and is reported to introduce some new options in the Punch’s powertrain within June itself.
