Recently, when I was looking through Joyzine submissions but nothing really caught my attention. the majority of them were good, but nothing really shook me. A few emails went unnoticed for a while and then a moment of slack occurred. It started in the same manner and then, I was for the first-time in time, I clicked on the link and instantly I was attracted by. It included Molosser Crude and the single “Twin Moons”.
The track is a great bass line that is dirty and bluesy that sticks in your head from the moment the track is heard. And then, to make it even more memorable the drummer and singer Tess is on the scene, singing beautiful powerful, strong vocals that finish the track with a soaring riff. It’s difficult to believe “Twin Moons” was created by a duo and not an entire group.
The band hails located in Sweden and is an electric offshoot of the acoustic group Molosser. The “crude” part the name of this band is a great description of their electric version. The setup is easy two musicians who manage to fill the space with their music and two guitar amplifiers with a bass amp as well as electronic drums that can be hammered with the same force as real drums. The band has named their music “hardcore stoner blues”
Whatever label you decide to use for the band, I’m certainly enjoying the music I’ve heard thus far. I’m excited to learn more about the new and exciting band. Molosseror Molosser Crude are my first groups to keep an eye on this year and I’m sure that we’ll hear more from them.
