The woman Barbie doll Barbie doll has been named for has given Margot Robbie her seal to approve … as well as she believes the film will please Barbie fans.
Barbara Handler, who’s grandmother Ruthcreated this iconic doll and named it for her, has told TMZ … She’s watched the “Barbie” movie trailer that was released recently and thinks Margot has nailed the role of the main character.
All in all, Barbara thinks the trailer is adorable and is particularly enjoying her voice … as well, she’s looking at the film’s July release more. She also says the rest the cast, including Ryan Gosling is proving to be great.
Barbara says that her mom, who gave the Ken doll after her late brother, could not have imagined her creation could be transformed into the world of Hollywood movie … as well, she believes Ruth would be thrilled to see her doll be a reality at the top of the line.
The Handler family was not part of the film, however Barbara says it’s wonderful to witness her mother’s legacy continue to live for generations to come.
And, by the way … Barbara does not go by Barbie she’s felt embarrassed about the name throughout her life. And so is Ken, her older sister Ken Ken, who was also not happy with the idea of a connection.
