It’s not a secret that I’m very fascinated by our cat. We have four cats that are with names like Mittens, Kismet, Calypso and Olive and they’re all members of our household. When I first heard of Apple Pie Painting and their customized Paint-by-Number pet Portraits I knew I’d be thrilled to have one for our home, and thought they’d be the perfect present idea to show our readers, too.
Apple Pie Painting Custom Paint-By-Number Pet Portraits
The first step of the process is to submit an image (or photographs) of your pet that you would like to see featured in your paint-by number kit. The Apple Pie Painting team Apple Pie Painting will hand-sketch the sketch on you and your pet(s) and then print it onto canvas. They’ll provide the colors you’ll have to paint with and put them in individual jars within your kit. Additionally, you’ll receive an color key that will show precisely where to paint each color together with top-quality paint brushes. The color key is important when you’re painting the second layer and you can not see the numbers anymore!
When I first saw my canvas, I was somewhat overwhelmed by the colors and the tiny spaces to paint! I’m not the best artist (not by any means) however, it was very enjoyable to watch the painting develop together
I began by creating the initial layer of the whole painting. Once the paint was dry, I started working on the second layer. I discovered it to be somewhat more difficult as I wanted the painting to be flawless. It was then that I realized it’s not enjoyable if the work is perfect. It’s painting! Then I began to enjoy the piece and watch it develop together.
The process was very cathartic after I was absorbed and I recalled the reason why I took all the art classes at college. Art is enjoyable! The process of watching my beloved felines come alive on canvas was really amazing, and I wound with a really enthralled paint-by-number style towards the conclusion. Here are the pictures I submitted of my pets and the finished piece once I finished!
I’m amazed by the similarities between them and how adorable this resulted! It’s in our cat/laundry room right now and I am awestruck by the process of creating it from beginning to end. I believe Apple Pie Painting kits would be wonderful presents for anyone on your list who is passionate about their pet, and even better is if they enjoy painting!
