What’s so great about this shaving Brussels sprouts salad
After a long week of traveling and eating my amount of foods, I found myself looking forward to a large salad. This recipe is a re-invention of the salad at a restaurant I had back.
In lieu of the Kale one had, I chose to massage Brussels sprouts rather. They break down just as the kale, and leaves them soft and soft.
The salad can be stored for a couple of days, even without dressing making it an excellent option for a grown-up lunchbox. Actually, I had leftovers from this photoshoot to eat for dinner, and it was as delicious.
Here’s everything you’ll need complete it.
Substitutions and ingredients
- Brussels seeds
- Apple A variety of apples can be used well, but I prefer honeycrisps and pink lady because of their colour and crunch.
- Onions green
- Sesame seeds I’ve used the black and white sesame seeds in this recipe. Either method, I suggest getting the sesame seeds that have been pre-toasted if they are available.
- Cashews If you’re not fond of cashews, or simply don’t use them. Feel free to substitute for a different type of kind of nut, or pepitas.
- Dried cranberries
How do I make this Brussels sprouts salad?
The chicken should be seared. If you need to, you can pound the chicken until it is an even thickness. Season it with salt and pepper. After that cook in a large pan to medium-high. Add some olive oil.
Once the oil is heated, cook the chicken approximately 5 minutes on each side or until cooked to perfection. I prefer using a meat thermometer for checking the temperature of the chicken’s internals at 165°F.
Remove the chicken from the oven and allow it to rest (while you prepare the salad) prior to chopping or cutting it up.
Create the dressing. Mix the oils together with the Dijon vinegar minced ginger, garlic and minced ginger together until it is smooth. Dress the dressing with salt and pepper as desired.
Prepare your Brussels sprouts. Add the shredded Brussels sprouts in a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle them with one tablespoon olive oil and a good pinch of salt. Rub the Brussels sprouts using clean hands until they are tender and soft.
Blend the salad. Add the rest of the ingredients for salad to the bowl. Stir into the dressing. The salad should be tossing until it’s evenly coated with dressing. After that, you can add the fried chicken and serve.
