Redbubble is a site that offers artwork of artists for t-shirts, stickers and many other items. Printing is handled by 3rd party printers within the USA, Europe, and Australia. The majority of artists and customers are happy with the service, however there are a number of copyright problems. The artwork is usually stolen from other websites , and then re-uploaded to sell on Redbubble.

Our recommendation:

We don’t recommend Redbubble due to their copyright concerns. If you’re looking for a better alternative to Redbubble We recommend TeeFury.

My Experience with Redbubble

Redbubble is a site where artists can sell their artwork as stickers, t-shirts, and other small products. It sounds like a dream to be realized for artists and can be extremely useful for those searching for distinctive designs.

Unfortunately, I’m among those who’s had to contend over copyright concerns. As with numerous artists, I’ve experienced many issues when my work was stolen and then re-uploaded by sellers and there’s no solution to clean up the mess.

I was initially optimistic. Selling artwork online can be difficult and especially challenging to be paid for the work you’ve done. Because Redbubble manages sales and printing and printing, they could be an ideal combination that allows artists to earn money while also providing an excellent service to customers.

I uploaded my work and was thrilled about the possibilities. I was amazed to see that the most successful artists are earning a lot of money and selling a large quantity of artwork on the site. However, once you begin your journey, you’ll struggle to get noticed. But, it’s normal, so I didn’t fret about it at first.

What transpired was that a more prominent artist copied the work of my. I looked over their portfolio and saw that a large portion of their pictures were duplicates of Deviant Art and from other sellers. I was aware of the problem and contacted Redbubble, hoping that the issue would be solved.

It was actually my account that was shut down. I tried to reach out to Redbubble about the issue and was continually sent regular emails that didn’t address my questions. If the company was legitimate they’d invest lots of effort into confirming the the correct copyrights. However, this isn’t the scenario.

Is Redbubble legitimate? What I can tell you is that selling artwork online isn’t easy and determining who has the copyright isn’t easy. It is essential for them to have an expert team to sort out the mess and make sure that the process fair. Redbubble is an excellent idea, but they have to put more effort into ensuring the sellers they use are legitimate.

The purchase of legitimate artwork is a major concern for consumers just as the artists. The customers want to know they’re receiving safe artwork which means that they can trust that it’s secure to purchase from. However, at the moment they’re not taking enough steps to protect the artwork from sellers who aren’t trustworthy.

The good thing is that there’s an enormous selection of artwork available for purchase. If you’re willing to accept copyright concerns, you’ll have plenty of choices to pick from. This is particularly the case for themes that don’t require a lot of creativity. Additionally, printing prices are very competitive and you’ll be able to get rapid turnarounds through their 3rd party printers located in The USA, Australia, and the EU.

Are Redbuble an enigma? I don’t believe it is. However, they face a challenge with ensuring their sellers are trustworthy. This is a big problem for artists, but it’s also a concern for buyers who may be concerned about legal concerns. My opinion is that it’s best to partner with firms that are able to ensure safety and ownership of art.

Personally I’ve changed my mind. I had much better success with their competitors such as TeeFury. The quality of the service isn’t up to par as of yet, but I do am optimistic about improved service. It is imperative that we have services that offer printing and sales so that customers will receive excellent service and artists are the money they deserve.

What is Redbubble?

As per their About Page: “Redbubble was born in 2006 in Melbourne, Australia. The idea was simple: to provide independent artists a new and meaningful means of selling their art. We connect more than 700,000 designers and artists across the globe with millions of fans who are passionate about their work. (and dare we say fashionable) new way to express yourself.”

Conclusion

If you’re in search of something that is unique, you’ll require hiring a reputable artist directly or go to a different website. Redbubble isn’t a reliable source in terms of copyright.
