Jonas Gaffud, creative and events director for Miss Universe Philippines, asked fans to get over it following the fact that Miss Philippines Celeste Cortesi failed to qualify for the top 16 in the Miss Universe 71st Miss Universe Competition in New Orleans, Louisiana on Jan. 14 (Jan. 15 in Manila).

“Walang essay. Move on lang. Happy life lang. I love you Celeste Cortesi.   ” Jonas wrote on Facebook.

In January. 11, the Gaffud stated that he was pleased with his performance as Celeste in the preliminary rounds.

“So beautiful. There are many opinions about what she could have done, and that was all the time in the preliminary rounds of Miss Universe. I was just happy to be able to watch her perform on the stage. Her movements effortlessly, and the delicate beauty she has. She doesn’t have to look like somebody else. She is the most authentic she can be.” Jonas wrote Jonas in her Instagram.

Voltaire Tayag Director of Communications for the Miss Universe Philippines Organization, advised fans of the pageant to be delighted with the accomplishments in the 16 top contestants.

“Let everyone be grateful for the achievement in the Top 16. The women who have been working for a long time to get to Miss Universe. They all deserve to be Miss Universe.

“Of of course, it hurts, but let’s keep that true nature of Miss Universe. Miss Universe has been very helpful to us for many years. We should be thankful for the past few years and remain positive about the future,” said Tayag.
