A dancer, doctor and doctor from India and mother of five kids died in the midst of her death when her car was struck by a motorbike speeding in Houston city in Texas according to media reports.

Mini Vettical, 52, born in Ramamangalam in Kerala she was returning to work when she was killed in a car crash in southeast Houston around 4 pm on the 7th of December, KHOU 11, a Houston-based television channel was said.

She was a professor in Baylor University and worked primarily in Harris Health clinics.

“Dr Vettical was devoted to caring for the underprivileged and underserved in Harris County at multiple health centers. The Baylor Family Medicine community is in shock and disbelief. Her beloved personality will be tremendously missed by faculty and staff. She leaves a gap that is hard to fill among her colleagues and patients,” the Baylor University statement read.

Alongside medically assisting people who are not being treated well in Houston, Vettical was actively engaged in various organizations like Pratham Houston along with Pratham Houston and the Houston Area Women’s Center. Additionally, she was a class-mate and was a part of the church and dance theatre.

Vettical remains with her husband and five kids.

Pooja Vettical who is the eldest of five children, said on KHOU 11 that regardless of how much Vettical was juggling, “she always made time for her most important job of all – being a mom”.

According to her death notice posted in the Dignity Memorial website, Vettical was born in Kuwait in the year 1970. She earned her medical degree at The University of Texas. She was an expert on Internal Medicine.

Funeral services were held on Monday in Houston’s St Anne Catholic Church.
